Domestic and commercial electrical services.

Over 20 years' experience across domestic, commercial and industrial installations in Ireland and Australia, from rewires and fit-outs through to EV charge points. All work is tested and issued with the appropriate certification on completion.

What we cover.

Domestic electrician

Full and partial rewires, consumer unit upgrades, lighting design and installation, sockets, showers, immersions and heat controllers, along with fault-finding and repair on existing installations.

Commercial electrician

Testing, maintenance, repair and upgrade work for commercial premises, including shop and office fit-outs, three-phase installations, data and containment, and planned maintenance.

Testing & certification

Qualified and authorised to carry out periodic inspection and PAT testing, and to issue the associated compliance certificates. Commonly required by landlords, for property sales and for insurance renewal.

Energy savings

Energy inspections identifying specific efficiency improvements, followed by the upgrade work itself: LED conversions, smart heating controls and revisions to how existing systems are wired and operated.

EV charge points

Home and workplace charge point installation, including the supply side: the circuit back to the board, protective devices, and a sub-board where the existing one has no room. Domestic driveways through to multi-bay commercial car parks.

Industrial

Three-phase distribution, control panel work, and machinery connected, reinstated and commissioned, along with the data communication and instrumentation that runs alongside an industrial installation.

Tested and certified.

Registered with RECI and certified under Safe Electric. Compliance certification is included as part of the work.

EV charge points.

A charge point is mostly an electrical job rather than a product swap. The charger itself is straightforward; what decides the cost and the timeline is the run back to the board, whether the board has a spare way, and what protection the circuit needs.

That covers a single charger on a domestic driveway through to multiple bays in a commercial car park, including a separate sub-board where the existing one is full.

  • Home charge points, driveway or garage
  • Workplace and multi-bay commercial installations
  • Sub-boards where the existing board has no spare ways
  • Tested and certified on completion

Grant support for home charge points is available through the SEAI. Worth asking about before you book, as the terms change.

Industrial.

Industrial work is mostly about what sits upstream of the socket: the incoming supply, the board or control panel it feeds, and the protection on everything downstream of that.

That covers three-phase distribution and sub-mains, control panel work, and machinery connected, reinstated and commissioned, along with the data and containment that runs with it.

Inside the work

What is actually in a consumer unit.

A board change is the job most often quoted without explanation. This is the same work set out in order, one part at a time.

01 / 05

The enclosure

A metal-clad box with a DIN rail across it. Everything else in the board clips onto that rail, and the box is sized for the spare ways a property will want later.

02 / 05

The main switch

Double width, and first on the rail. It isolates the whole board in one movement: the switch you want to be able to find in the dark.

03 / 05

One device per circuit

An RCBO protects a single circuit on its own. A fault on the shower trips the shower, not the lights, and not the whole house.

04 / 05

Distribution

The busbar carries the supply from the main switch across every device. Earth and neutral bars land the other end of each circuit.

05 / 05

Tested, then certified

A board is not finished when it is wired. Registered with RECI and certified under Safe Electric, work is tested and issued with a compliance certificate.

How a job is handled.

Initial enquiry

Describe the problem or the planned work by phone. You will be advised whether it is a callout or a quoted job, and what is likely to be involved.

Costing

A breakdown of the cost is provided before work begins. If anything unexpected is found during the work, it is raised and agreed before proceeding.

Testing and certification

The installation is tested and the compliance certificate issued. The documentation is yours to retain for insurance, sale or your own records.

Emergency callout

Available across Dublin, Meath and Wicklow.
